Venue: The Venetian Expo Center, Las Vegas, NV
This is Adobe’s annual flagship conference which took place in Las Vegas from March 18–20. It drew over 12,000 in-person attendees and nearly 30,000 virtual participants from more than 140 countries. The event featured over 200 sessions and labs across 13 different areas, with insights from more than 500 speakers, including industry leaders and celebrities like Ken Jeong and Serena Williams. Attendees came from over 70 countries.
The Venetian Expo Center, formerly known as the Sands Expo and Convention Center, is one of the largest and most prominent convention facilities in Las Vegas. Originally built in 1990 it has been retrofitted many times over the years and has built in challenges that needed to be considered before we could begin the execution of the design. After initial conversations with the client, we prioritized seating capacity, camera angles, and sightlines for the VIP section. This year we shifted the entire stage off-center of the room. This allowed us to set up a longer camera shot down the center aisle (shown above), without the obstruction of architectural columns.
The 3D sketches above show an early concept. I communicate with our team by showing the content and IMAG screens in light blue and our scenic LED screens in a gold color. I have found that this to be a useful visual aid for our producers and other team members, as we exchange ideas and give feedback. The drawings below were presented to our technical director for fabrication and distribution to the various departments.
